Character in Focus: Lucifer from Angel Sanctuary

Origin

From one of the most famous works to be ever penned by Kaori Yuki, Lucifer is one of the brightest and most mysterious angels to ever grace the series. Lucifer comes from the manga Angel Sanctuary. In the timeline when Angel Sanctuary began, Lucifer already was the king of hell and the revered prince of darkness.


Character Design

Highly mysterious, Lucifer stands tall and lean. He has dark hair which he has grown longer through the years of his reign as the king of hell. He has dark eyes that are slanted and are dagger like. Upon his descent to hell, Lucifer gains four dark wings, this is where Alexiel took his nickname "Mr. Four Wings".


Personality

Unpredictable and unreadable, Lucifer is always the quiet and mysterious one. It is also a strange fact that it took almost half of the series to discover who Lucifer really was. As to the real Lucifer, he was known as one of the most brilliant angels that the heavens praised. However, even if he was this angel looked up to by many, he still appeared dark and unapproachable, connected to a destiny which he did not wish to have.


Significance

Lucifer later became the king of hell, not by choice but rather, by destiny. He was sent to hell to become its ruler by the creator himself. He is also the one who loved Alexiel truly and faithfully, that he followed her all through her reincarnations in order to stay by her side and protect her.
