The occurrence of twins is likelier than you think. Sometimes, this even becomes a plot device for many manga and anime story lines that you’ll just wonder how the heck that happened. So here, we’ll be listing down three unlikely twins that make you wonder how such connection was even possible!
Hiei and Yukina
You won’t really figure it out. Supposedly twins, and yet they don’t even have a hint of resemblance. Yu Yu Hakusho really does know how to boggle our minds. One is a demon fire child, the other is an angelic ice princess. In a mission to save Yukina, the troop first masks the truth from Hiei. Later on, the black fire demon plays the role of an undercover over protective brother. Why undercover? Simply because he doesn’t even let Yukina know that he is her long lost twin brother. Having her best interests in mind and thinking that it is not safe for her younger sister to be acquainted with him - Hiei protects his sister from afar and Yukina, while oblivious of their connection still does feel this brotherly love.
It is quite a funny fact that in the whole series, the only characters who are still oblivious to this fact is Yukina herself and her love interest Kuwabara. Beware, Kuwabara, your girlfriend’s got a scary brother.
Saya and Diva
While most constantly state that they are very much alike, Saya and Diva - chiropteran twins from Blood+ are very different from each other. Saya fights in order to save humans and let them live, while Diva just does the exact opposite. Strangely enough, Diva acts like a child, a playful little girl while Saya, the older of the two acts the tougher one when in truth – it is Diva who holds greater power and much darkness.
Diva and Saya are such polar opposites that even their blood mixed with one another would mean their deaths. Now that’s a fatal combination.
Yoh and Hao Asakura
Both powerful Shamans from the world of Shaman King - the relationship between Yoh and Hao is very confusing. For one, they are twins, then, they are actually one soul split into two. Later on, it was found that both are reincarnations of the powerful genius Shaman Hao Asakura who had been trained in this art, a thousand years before the story even started.
But that much of history is not needed to point out that Yoh is against his twin brother Hao and vice versa. Well, actually, Hao doesn’t really acknowledge the other as threat but knows well that he has abilities since they are twins. While Yoh strives to save the lives of the people, Hao is walking in a path to destruction – while both of them want to save the world, their means are different. Yoh wants to save the world from Hao, and Hao wants to save the world from humans. Good intentions, bad paths – way to divide twins.
There are more twins in the colorful world of manga and anime, games even, so stay tuned for more!
