Hiding behind a mask gives a person an air of mystery and darkness - but flare and elegance when it's timely - as in a masquerade ball. But the masks these guys where aren't for fashion or anything like that - it's to really hide their identities behind the mask!
Masked Kurei from Flame of Recca
The heir to Augustus Mori's name and supposed property was his only son Kurei. But the truth behind it is that - Kurei was not his son at all, but was a child from the past that travelled to the future whom he had picked up from the streets. Kurei started to live a great life with his rich adopted father but he did endure some hardships as he was not the actual loving father a kid would want. Instead, he was a corrupt man who did not show compassion to others. In an attempt to awaken Kurei's rage, Mori kills off Kurenai, a girl whom Kurei loved dearly. With this, Kurei reawakens his dark and forbidden flame, transforming his beloved Kurenai into his weapon and becoming a flame herself. As she touches his face, his flesh burns - leaving a scar which he had hidden with his mask.
Tuxedo Mask
Helping out Sailormoon from the sidelines is the trusty and mysterious Tuxedo mask. Whenever the heroines are in trouble, Tuxedo Mask shows up and boosts their morale and takes them out of the sticky situation - no one knows what his intentions are or he really was, until it was revealed later on in the series. Nevertheless, he still keeps on his mask and even takes the countenance of the Knight of the Moonlight - another masked knight in the series.
