At Each Other’s Necks

Posted: April 20, 2010

Cain and Abel

These pairs have been bound by blood – real sisters and brothers. While it is a well known fact that siblings should love each other, these pairs are at each other’s necks trying to become superior over the other, their reasons far different along with their principles.

Saya and Diva from Blood+

Saya and Diva come from way back in the ages when people were still in castles and gowns. Unknown to Saya, she had a sister – both of them originating from an unlikely monstrous mother. But even then, the two kept the appearance of a human, sharing the same face and the same appearance. Saya, chancing upon Diva in captivity befriends her and even gives her the name ‘Diva’.

But being true to her nature of a violent chiropteran - Diva, being freed from her prison unleashes her power and kills the people in Saya’s manor – leaving only Saya and her then, newly made Chevalier - Haji to live.

The cycle becomes apparent, with Diva wrecking havoc and Saya trying to eliminate her over the years of their existence until the both of them go to slumber. And the cycle begins again upon the time they both wake up.

Cain and Abel from Trinity Blood

Much like Saya and Diva, Cain and Abel are twins. However, since they were children, the two have already been against each other with disagreements growing into fruits of anger. The series begins several years after the two had separated their ways with Abel emerging as a priest working for Vatican - with only a few knowing his real nature as a Krusnik - a vampire who slays vampires and thrives on their blood. Cain on the other, becomes the lord of the Rosen Kreuz Orden, the enemy of the Vatican – more specifically – the AX, the agency where Abel serves.
