Artstyle Like No Other

Posted: April 22, 2010

Ranma 1/2

With their talent with manga and arts – along with their distinctive art style, there is no mistaking that the works you suspect might actually be theirs. And surely they are! As these manga artists have art styles like no other that it is very easy to tell them apart from other mangas and animes.

Rumiko Takahashi

Hailing from the classics like the funny Invader Girl Lum, the very complicated love-hate story that is Ranma 1/2 and the more recent dog demon love story which encompasses time that is Inuyasha - there is no mistaking it! It’s the work of famous manga artist Rumiko Takahashi! Her art style is characterized by the round facial features of her characters – add to that the cray concepts that she comes up with in every single one of her series’. Rumiko’s girls are often round and shapely while her male characters look young and boyish by nature making them very easy to spot when placed next to other characters from other series’.

Takeshi Ohbata

One of the fresher manga artists out there - Takeshi Ohbata’s prowess has spawned the classic Hikaru no Go, one of the best selling mangas that took the anime world by storm - Death Note and the new manga making series Bakuman. Aside from his very smooth and clean art style that features attractive characters - Ohbata, too, has a penchant for fashion. It is quite noticeable that he almost always makes his characters wear the trendiest clothes and make them wear what’s hot. Usually, his characters are very fashionable without them even trying. With the rare exception of L of course.
