Anime Review: Princess Tutu

Plot

Combining art and drama, Princess Tutu creates a majestic world where ballerinas come together in a world of magic, love and beauty without it ever becoming awkward. In the story, a duck is struck with awe by a seemingly dancing prince in the middle of the forest. Wanting to dance with him, she was granted the power to transform into a human and later on a dancing magical princess who has the power to collect the pieces of the prince’s broken heart. As she battles the evil forms in the form of crows, she serves as the dancing beautiful swan that restores hope in the hearts of the people.


Art

The art for the anime is superb. The character designs are unique and distinctive of the characters’ personalities. The whole series is also very smooth and there is no moment in the anime when the faces of the characters got funky or the animation became funny. It is a great mix of magical animation along with the smooth and fluid movements of the characters.


Overall

This is a series that shouldn’t be missed by anyone and it is a total pick. Princess Tutu is definitely one of the best anime series’ to watch.
