A Scarf for Christmas

Posted: November 04, 2009

Midori Days

Right after the season of spook and candies - Halloween, the season of happiness and warmth is already in the air even if it’s in the coldest months. Just a bit more and it’s Christmas! And Christmas is one of those occasions that is very much celebrated in manga and anime as it is a joyous, colorful and wonderful occasion. Now, have you noticed the common gifts during Christmas in anime? Why, a scarf of course! A long one which binds people together! See here:

Midori no Hibi or Midori Days

In Midori Days, Seiji - the then called demon, was lucky enough to be the object of affection of two girls from the series. One of which is his classmate whom he thought didn’t like him at all, and the other one was Midori herself, a girl who is literally, magically inseparable to him who was very open with her feelings towards him.

The idea of a scarf as a gift is that it was hand made – with all the sweat and love that was put into it, it become a very valuable gift. A scarf that is to be given as a gift is also tad longer than the normal ones or the ones that can be purchased. The reason behind this is that it is a scarf for two people to share, to bring them closer during the colder days of Christmas - a very warm and thoughtful concept.

Well then, start knitting!
